about the author's grandfather, a Jew who played basketball for the US Olympic team in the 1936 Olympics in Berlin.

The last swimming lesson went well. The teacher, whom my friend and I hired privately (she is a recently graduated UCD student), was nice enough to make little certificates for each of the kids who were participating in the lessons (4 families / 7 kids). Now she is off to a job in DC doing theater with young people.

We are going to the Giants-Dodgers game on Sunday. Dan is finally back to normal at work, meaning he can actually take a day off. It's supposed to be 63 and foggy in San Francisco this weekend so I guess we will need to dig the sweatshirts out from the bottom of the closet.
